The Waverly varsity baseball traveled down Michigan Ave yesterday to take on the neighboring Sexton Big Reds. The Warriors stayed perfect on the season winning both games by the scores of 16-0 and 15-0. Andrew Kerrigan had 2 hits and drove in 2 runs. JJ Arroyo doubled in a run and Jacob Hartman singled in run as well. Derrick Bell threw a no-hitter striking out 8 in the 3 inning mercy. The Warriors continued to roll in the second game winning another 3 inning mercy 15-0. Eddie Banda and Griffin Sika were the stars offensively with 2 hits and 3 RBI’s each. Sika earned his first career varsity win on the mound allowing one hit while striking out 7. Waverly will open the newly redone Adams Memorial Field on Monday, April 15 at 4pm vs. Central Montcalm.
